Summer Days

Hello sweet friends! Glad you've stopped by. Our family is enjoying the lazy days of summer. My son Grant has summer break from his pre-school so it's been so nice not being on a fixed schedule and routine in the mornings. We can all leisurely get up and have time to actually enjoy the morning and not have to experience the mad rush of busy week day mornings. Well, MY CHILDREN may not notice a difference, but I DO! 

 I LOVED summer as a child. It meant swimming, riding bikes, ice cream trucks, roller skating outside in the driveway, family vacations. Brings back so many fun and nostalgic times in my childhood. Right now Im enjoying this time with my children and creating wonderful and memorable summer experiences for them. Before it get's TOO EXTREMELY HOT here in the south I try to let them spend as much time outdoors. This past Saturday I took my children to Dairy Queen. LOTS of great memories at the ole' DQ! Got to love their soft serve ice cream!!!

After our trip to the local DQ, we headed to the park to burn off the calories. ;) This was Vivi's first time on a swing set and just from looking at the first pic it's obvious she LOVED it!

The heat is already reaching the 90's here so needless to stay we didnt stay at the park too long. I put sunscreen on them both and they still started turning PINK!

It's nice to spending quality time with my children. Too often, I get caught up in my creations and work that Im guilty of not "stopping to smell the roses" I keep reminding myself that they are only young once and to enjoy every moment of it.

GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS! Who has seen this movie yet? What did you think? I LOOOOVED IT!!!! Im sure like many of you I am a HUGE DIE HARD fan!!!! Some of my close girlfriends Heather & Renee with whom I use to be next door neighbors with back in my younger single days use to get together to watch new episodes of Sex and the City every Sunday evening. We would wear our pj's, mix up a margarita and sit back and enjoy. Sometimes our good friends Ben & Jerry would hang out too. ;)

My girlfriend Heather hosted an "all girl" party for the opening night of the movie. Sixteen of us gals dined at a fun swanky restaurant in Atlanta. We of course had to celebrate the movie with the traditional COSMO martini.

All over Atlanta the movie was SOLD OUT! Our tickets were for the 10:45 show. I kid you not out of the whole entire theatre we counted only 10 guys! YEP! The rest were ALL women! Lots of estrogen flowing!!!! hee! hee! It was a site! GIRL POWER! :)

Dreaming of Mr. Big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The evening was a blast! You MUST see this movie if you are a fan. I promise it wont dissapoint!

Have you ever heard of the motto "Less is more..." Well, I do believe in that in most cases. Less clutter and more simple is very soothing and pleasing to the eye. I agree to an extent. However when it comes to my daughters room it's MORE! MORE! MORE! I cant stop buying and collecting things for her room. Hence my newest purchase. I want to share with you my custom Vivian cupcake banner made my the SUPER SWEET and amazingly talented Laurie of Happy as a Lark.   I own several pieces of Lauries work and Im in love with her magical and enchanting creations. Especially her fairies!!!! This is a cupcake banner made in my favorite pastel colors with Vivian's name at the bottom.

TA-DA!!! A New Makeover!

Greetings my lovely friends! Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day holiday! Thank you EVERYONE for stopping by my Sunday Show and tell and leaving me so many sweet and heartfelt comments. You comments just put the BIGGEST smile on my face, and I truly appreciate you ALL!!!!! ((HUGS!!))

 

SQQQUUUEEELLLL!!!! Im SUPER excited to share with you all my new banner and logo! The incredibly talented Miss Heather Bluhm designed my banner and business cards. I've admired her work for the longest time and I knew immediately I wanted her to give me an updated look. Im THRILLED!!!!  

I must give a HUUUUUGE thank you to Miss Natasha for drawing the SWEETEST MOST PRECIOUS bunny for my logo. I was chatting with her casually about creating a new logo for my business and I explained that I was having a hard time trying to find a super cute bunny that captures my look and work. Natasha totally surprised me by offering to design and draw her for me. She looked at my work for inspiration and childrens books and created this DARLING girlie whimsy bunny for my logo. I about DIED when I first laid eyes on her! Natasha's talent is endless! Im blown away!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you sooooooo much Heather and Natasha!!!! I LOVE my NEW look!!!

Show and Tell Sunday

Hello my super sweet friends! Happy Memorial Day weekend! Hope you all are having a lovely weekend. I feel like I've been on a mini vacation from my blog. I've been sooo busy with just "LIFE" in general that I feel like I've taken a siesta from my blog. Anyhoo, so EXCITED to be joining in on this Show and tell Sunday that is hosted by the SUGARY SWEET Analise.

I've decided to break down my Show and Tell by rooms of my house. The first room where we will take a peek at my lovely goodies will be my dining room.

This cabinet holds some of my beautiful tea sets, and teacups. As well as china plates.

This is my FAV teacup and saucer. The roses and colors are just BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  

I would LOVE to share my silver tea set with you however it is very tarnished and not looking it's prettiest! hee! hee!

ON TO THE KITCHEN!!!!

Im in LOVE with my everyday china. The soft shabby colors with it's beautiful roses swooped me up from the moment I laid eyes on the pattern This Homer Laughlin set comes from all over.

  

These are not FINE china, but I wanted to share them with you. These are beautiful pitchers that I display in my cabinets.

 

In my bedroom I like to display china plates on the mantel.

  

Displayed on my vanity is my silver and crystal set. I LOOOOVE Lady Primrose.

 My silver mirror and one of the jar lids has my initials engraved on top. It's a gorgeous set!

I have a beautiful display of picture frames in my family room. The frames sit inside a round silver platter along with a VERY tarnished teapot of dried roses. I think it's time I replace them. hee! hee!

In Vivi's room I have some GORGEOUS yummy shabby vintage german plates hanging on her walls.

I sincerely hope I didnt over do it with all the german plate photos. LOL!!! Not sure if this is what Analise had in mind, because it's not tableware china, but OH WELL I had fun sharing with ya!

I recevied TWO HUGE surprises in the mail this week!!! One was a package from Miss Sadie Lou. When I first saw the package I immediately thought to myself "Hmmm. I dont think I bought anything from her". Well, low and behold she knows I have a rather large collection of cherubs in my home. She found this adorable cherub vase at a tag sale and instantly thought of me.

I was FLOORED with her bundle of sweetness and thoughtfulness. Thank you sooo much Sadie Lou! It will fit in PERFECT in my home! :) 

The NEXT big surprise was a "just because" gift from my AWESOME Big Sis Barbie doll Jessi Nagy. I about DIED when I saw this tag!!!! Omigosh! Look! It's us!!!

 

Jessi I LOOOOOOVE my tag! Soooo reminds me of Ya~Ya Sisterhood! I will find the perfect spot for it sweet friend!!!!

I have some BIG surprises in the works. I've been creating some NEW goodies that I will be unveiling very soon! Im sooo excited!

Little boy Shadowbox

Good Monday greetings!!! Hope all you Mommies (to big and little ones) had a wonderful Mothers day and were pampered and spoiled like crazzy! We DESERVE it!!! :) It was the first time my hubby took the kids ALL day long (even grocery shopping) with a big smile on his face and not one grumble or complaint. hee! hee! Mothers Day started out a wee bit scarey for us. We had very bad storms come thru in the wee hours, and our tornado sirens went off at 5:30am. By 6am hubby and I had the kids safely downstairs in the basement because a tornado was spotted and we needed to take shelter. It was quite scarey to say the least. We were extremely fortunate that we did not get hit, however a torando did touch down appx 5-7 miles south of our neighborhood. There was a lot of storm damage and were very lucky to have our power, but had no water for most of the day. Anyhoo, by late afternoon water came back on, and we enjoyed the rest of our evening.

The kiddies did a FANTASTIC job with gift giving. How did they EVER know that Mommy wanted a new camera??? Hmmm...maybe a little biride told them.

I got the just released Nikon P80 Coolpix. It's a good snap a shot pic but with more bells and whistles.

Last Thursday Grant's preschool hosted a Mothers Day tea. All the Mommies and children are to wear their Sunday best and spend quality time having tea and and tea sandwiches. It is so much fun and just the SWEETEST and most sentimental!!!!

TA-DA! A wall plaque to hang! He used a puple ink and a floral stamp to create this adorable plaque. The photo is of him making it for me. He's so proud! :)

Im excited to show you my newest shadowbox. A super sweet customer had asked me to make a boy theme shadowbox for her newborn son Gavin. Im use to making all things girlie, pink, and with lots of froof! However, I was up for the CHALLANGE!

 

I really love how the blue, red and creamy white worked together. Im pretty happy with the results. :)

One last thing that I must SHOW off is this SWEETEST most YUMMIEST cupcake pillow made by my wonderful and dearest friend Cheryl. I ADORE the fabric! It looks PERFECT in Miss Vivi's room.

Southern Belle in Savannah

Warm Greetings lovely friends! Im a wee bit late catching up on my blog. It's been a WHIRLWIND of a week!!! My 16 year old dog Alli has been very very sick.

She has seizures every so often,and this past weekend the came back agressivly. It's so heartbreaking!!! We've been to the vet, and she is being treated with medication. There are times she cant quite make it outside to use the bathroom or can barely get up for that reason because her back legs give out. The good news is my vet doesn't think she is in pain or is suffering, AND she still has her appetitie and drinks plenty of water. She also stares at me with those big brown eyes and acts happy to see me everytime I walk thru the door. Im making sure her last little bit of time is full of quality and LOTS & LOTS of LOVE & TLC!!!

Last weekend my hubby and I spent a FUN adult weekend in Savannah, GA. My parents and my Uncle and his wife joined us as well. We own property outside of Savannah and if you have NEVER been. You are missing out! It truly is the OLD SOUTH!!! Im going to treat you to a few pics of large live oak trees and southern style homes ALONG with my FAV Savannah shops!!!

I SWEAR pics dont do this home justice! It reminds me of a home you would see on the Mississippi river.

While the boys golfed all day, us ladies went shopping in downtown Savannah. My FAV place to shop is Vintage General. Liz is the shop owner and I met her several years ago at her first location. Her shop has continually grown over the years and she has moved three times. Her current location is FABULOUS! The shop is even BIGGER and FULL of more GOODIES! I was like a kid in the candy shop!!!!! She carries everything! You must check out her online store. Here is a little lookie at the inside. Come on! I'll give ya a tour!

They carry the most beautiful and eclectic decor from big to small.

Of course I did not come home empty handed. I purchased a few fun things from Vintage General. I fell HEAD OVER HEELS in love with this vintage Nestle Frutips cannister. The sherbet colors are so fun!

I found a great spot for it in my kitchen.

Of course I must bring my babies a gift home. I found this also at Vintage General, and just the candy theme alone made me want to squeal!!! My Mom wondered if I was really and truly buying it for Grant, or really for myself. hee! hee!

Pretty in Pink

 

Warm welcomes girlie girls!!! What a way to start off a new post with a sexy Gil Elvgren pinup girl. Think of her as a grown up "big girl" ballerina with a little less tutu and high heel satin pumps instead of ballerina slippers. hee! hee! This post theme is dedicated to all that is "Pretty in Pink". I have ALL sorts of sweet pastel pink yummies that Im giddy to to share with you. 

This evening I took this super sweet pic of my cutie-pie Vivi. She just had her bath (hence the wild wet hair) and she is riding her pink pony.

I've had a fun time scouring and finding some ooey gooey sweet pinkalicious goodies for my artwork. Look at this darling pink squeaky elephant I just purchased. I have some WILD and INSANE ideas for it! However, it's so darn cute I dont know if I can part with it.

Mister Grant was invited to a PINKALICIOUS birthday party for a little girl in his class this past weekend. My first thoughts were. Girl.. Pink.. BIRTHDAY!!!! OH WHAT FUN I can have making something special for her. Forget running to Walmart or Target. Grant's mamma is going to MAKE her birthday gift. :) The little girl's Mommy emailed me a picture of her daughters face and TA-DA!!!! This is what I dreamed up!

The little birthday girl took one look and instantly tried to bite the candy! ACK! I should have known better. It quickly ended up in the pile of opened gifts, but thankfully the Mom was TICKLED and THRILLED over it! I was even more delighted when the Mom showed me her daughters room which is decorated so sweet and girlie, but had NO pictures on the wall! GASP! So, the Mom is super excited to FINALLY have a little something special to add to her daughters bedroom walls.

I have recently become OBSESSED with Etsy seller Missy aka Boopsie Daisy . I OOOGLE her COLORFUL RAINBOW Flickr photos ALL the time. She is like a little bright sunshine bringing warm smiles into your life with her photostream. They are UBER whimsy, quirky,funny, and SOOOOO DARN CUTE! Take a peek when you have time. You are guaranteed a smile and a laugh! Trust me Im not the only one who worships her. Just take a lookie at her testimonials. They speak for themselves.

Missy and I have formed a blossoming friendship. We both LOVE  and admire each others work. She is such a sweet soul and truly ONE OF A KIND!!!! I just purchased one of her NEW Boopsie dolls named Esther Bunny. Omigosh! Is she just not a bundle of CUTENESS??

In return I have created a special doll for Missy. Miss Boopsie Queen.

Miss Boopsie Queen has a pinwheel instead of silver wand because Boopsie's world is so COLORFUL and there is one particular photo in her Flickr photostream of her daughter with a big old fashioned rainbow swirly lollipop. It's the SWEEEEETEST photo, and In the background is a LARGE wind pinwheel. To me this darling little pinwheel represents Miss BOOPSIE. :)

Im a LOVER of vintage jewelry. My heart belongs to vintage bling! However, this last little sweet treat I  took one look and just had to have! It's NOT all pink, but has plenty of sweet pink pastel sprinkles inside. It's my new resin candy cupcake necklace by Kim aka Stoopidgerl.

She is now creating a custom EYE CANDY piece just for me with some extra BLING! Can NOT wait to see it!!! 

I also have to give Kim a HUGE CONGRATS! She now has 4000 people that heart her shop on Etsy! Whoo-hoo!!! Kim has such a WILD sense of humor which I just LOVE! You'll get a little taste of it if you stop by her shop. hee! hee!

Hello my lovely friends! I feel like Im SOOOO late blogging and posting pics of the OH SO FABULOUS swap that was hosted by the super sweet Miss Heather of Pretty Petals. I guess better late than never! hee! hee!

DARLING Vintage Games!

Talk about a *SUGAR HIGH* Im dizzy from all the SWEETNESS she sent me! Thank you soooooooooooooooo MUCH Heather! I cant WAIT to use all my goodies for Grant & Vivi's birthday party!!!

I CANT resist showing you this next picture that I took today. My son TOTALLY takes after me. Im a HUGE chocolate lover! I literally have to have at least a small piece of chocolate a day. Hence the gumball machine in my kitchen full of peanut M&M's. Anyhoo, I bought the small single cups of chocolate ice cream for my son to have as a special treat. This afternoon he sits at his little table in the kitchen to enjoy his ice cream. Meanwhile, Mommy is busy surfing the net and Flickr. :) All of a sudden I look up from my computer to see this little dirty boy covered in chocolate!

I could NOT resist but to bust out laughing!!! This is what I LOVE about children!!!

This is a Tell-Tale sign that he enjoyed his ice cream! ;)

This past weekend was the Historic Macon Party of the Year which is an annual black tie event that we've attended the past three years . I invited my close girlfriend Heather to join us for a night of getting "dolled" up, sip champagne, eat yummy hor dourves,mingle and dance the night away. These are a few pics before we hit the town!

I usually wear a long gown to these events, but I found this gorgeous pale pink dress and just had to have it. I felt like a retro 50's gal wearing this dress. I was told that SEVERAL times throughout the night.

Artsy Mamma Vintage Party SWAP!!!!

Hello sweet and fabulous friends! WOW! I feel like I've been away, but I really haven't. I've just been a busy bee working on my swap gifts, that I've haven't made time to blog or LOOK at  blogs for that matter. I MUST catch up!!!! . Im the worlds worst procrastinator!
